World Water Week 2026: Hear from Evidence Action on dispensers, in-line chlorination

Our Safe Water Now team joins two sessions in Stockholm: one on handing chlorine dispenser tools to new partners, one on taking in-line chlorination to scale. Both are open to online participants for free.

Evidence Action is bringing more than a decade of community chlorination work to this year's World Water Week, taking place Aug. 23-27 in Stockholm. Our Safe Water Now team will be sharing what we've learned across two sessions: a panel on scaling dispensers through field-building partnerships in Nigeria and Ethiopia, and another discussing in-line chlorination at scale.

World Water Week itself is the leading annual conference on global water issues, organized by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI). Since 1991 it has brought thousands of participants together. This year's program comes at a pivotal time, just ahead of COP30 and the 2026 UN Water Conference. The conversation centers on what equitable human development looks like as the climate changes: water security, sanitation, healthy ecosystems, and adaptation.

Session 12594

Standing on Shoulders: Scaling community chlorination through partnerships

Why does every new chlorination implementer start from zero? With GiveWell's support, Evidence Action is sharing chlorine dispenser tools, hardware, and more than ten years of lessons learned to partners in Nigeria and Ethiopia. We're encouraging partners to adapt, iterate, and improve on what has already been tested, building on years of hard-won learning rather than repeating it. Join us to hear what we are learning as the pilots begin, and be part of the design of the next generation of community chlorination.
