Prevention doesn't make headlines, but it changes lives.
Ankur Garg, Executive Vice President and India Country Director, joined Red FM to talk about why prevention is the future of public health in India, from the intestinal worms that quietly drain a child's energy and focus, to the anemia they leave behind, to the everyday importance of safe drinking water for families across the country.
The conversation touched on a simple truth: some of India's biggest health wins won't ever trend, because they show up as sickness that never happened. A child who stays in school. A mother who stays productive. A community that stays well.
"A healthy India won't be built just by adding hospitals or by continuously treating people from one problem to the next," Garg said. "If we always take a purely treatment-focused approach, we'll never have enough hospitals, enough clinics, or enough medicines for our population."
