We are pleased to announce that two former Evidence Action staff members are re-joining the team in new roles. Christina Riechers, former Director, Global Programs joined our Board of Directors and we are thrilled to have her leadership guiding us. Samantha Bastian, former Associate Director, Monitoring Learning and Information Systems, has returned after completing a degree at Oxford University to lead G-United as Deputy Director of Evidence Action Beta.

Christina was a key player in Evidence Action’s start-up phase, generating resources for the organization, creating a vision for growth, and establishing organizational systems. She is now at Square, the mobile payment start-up. Christina’s knowledge of our operations, commitment to our mission, and expertise in growing smart, entrepreneurial organizations make her an excellent addition to our Board.

Samantha Bastian was the first lead of the Monitoring, Learning and Information Systems team. Under her guidance, the separate monitoring and evaluation teams servicing our two flagship programs came together in a single unit to manage data collection and analysis in East Africa. This has ensured quality monitoring and evaluation as Evidence Action grows (a high impact contribution for a group that values evidence as much as we do!). Sam left last fall to pursue an MBA at Oxford University. She will lead the growth and development of G-United, a project in our Beta portfolio.

We are very excited to see both Christina and Sam return to Evidence Action in their new roles to put their skills and experience to work for us. Welcome back!
