Evidence Action is dedicated to improving the lives of millions of people across Africa and Asia. We deliver our evidence-based interventions where the need and opportunity are greatest.

We created Evidence Action because we believe that there is need for a new approach to development - an approach that is predicated on evidence of impact and on audacious goals for large and sustainable social impact.

We currently operate in seven countries around the world. We provide services to millions of the most vulnerable people in these countries irrespective of their race, religion, gender, or political affiliation.

Some of the countries where we operate are representative democracies while others are not. We do not always agree with the political methods of the governments of the countries in which we work.  Our operations in a given country in no way reflects an endorsement of that country's form of government, and we continuously evaluate the political situation wherever we operate.

Ethics

Evidence Action’s work is focused on social impact. We have a duty to provide services without causing harm to individuals or groups. We respect our customers’ autonomy, confidentiality, and their right to informed consent. We treat our customers with dignity, and with respect for their cultural and religious beliefs.

Independence

Our decision to work in any country is based on an independent assessment of the needs of populations. We strive to ensure that we have the power to freely evaluate those needs, to access populations without restriction, and to directly control our work.

Impartiality and Neutrality

We offer our services to people based on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender, or political affiliation. We do not take sides or intervene in political disagreements or conflicts.

Accountability

We are committed to regularly evaluating all aspects of our activities. We assume the responsibility of accounting for all of our work to our customers and donors.
